Verna E. (Brierly) Derderian, 79, of Cobble Hill Road, was ushered into heaven by her loving family singing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she passionately loved. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul H. Derderian for 36 years. Born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Raymond and Verna (Cook) Brierly.
Along with her husband, she was a founding member of All Saints Anglican Church, Attleboro, where she was a respected elder. Verna enjoyed most about life was spending time with family and friends, and she had an abundance of both. She loved hosting large and lively dinner parties for family and church friends. She loved gardening and nature, taking trips to Disney World, and enjoying the family motorhome with her husband. Above all she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved being surrounded by all.
She is survived by seven daughters, Deborah Jean Derderian of Coventry; Lorry Simas and husband David of Coventry; Debora Ann Ferri-Mullen of Foxboro, MA; Lisa Boissonneault and husband Jeffrey of Lincoln; Susanne Senra and husband Ricky of Pawtucket; Sandy Bartlett and husband Tom of Scituate; and Pauline Scott and husband Troy of Seekonk, MA; one son, Paul Derderian II of Coventry; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and a brother, John “Jack” Brierly. She was the sister of the late Raymond and Robert Brierly. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, September 9th from 4:00 – 7:00p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. A Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, September 10th at 10:00a.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main St., Attleboro, MA. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main St., Attleboro, MA 02703 would be appreciated.
